Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed premier Miniratna Schedule ‘A’ Company of Government of India, has invited online applications from eligible ITI and Vocational certificate holders for One Year Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
A total of 210 apprenticeship seats are available, including 205 ITI Trade Apprentice seats and 5 Technician (Vocational) Apprentice seats. The monthly stipend is ₹11,000/-.

Educational Qualification
For ITI Trade Apprentices:
- Pass in Xth standard.
- Pass in ITI (National Trade Certificate – NTC) in any one of the trades mentioned in the notification.
For Technician (Vocational) Apprentices:
- Pass in Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) in the concerned discipline.
Age Limit
The candidate must be at least 18 years of age as on 08 October 2026.
Domicile Requirement
The applicant shall be a domicile in Kerala.
Physical Standards
Physical standards will be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and amendments thereof, if any.
Training Duration & Important Eligibility Condition
The apprenticeship training duration is one year as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in any other organization for any duration under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible to apply.
Selection Process
Shortlisting will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective trade/vocation.
If more than one candidate secures the same percentage of marks in the prescribed qualification, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in age.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed through their registered email ID and will have to appear for certificate verification. Final provisional selection will be subject to eligibility verification, merit/reservation and medical fitness.
Certificate Verification
Shortlisted candidates are required to produce:
- Printout of the online application form containing the unique registration number and duly signed.
- Original certificates related to age, qualification, caste, disability (if applicable), etc.
- Self-attested copies of the required certificates.
Application Fee
No Application Fee.
Boarding, Lodging & Travel Expenses
- CSL will not provide boarding or lodging during the apprenticeship training period.
- No travel expenses will be paid for attending certificate verification or during the apprenticeship training period.
How to Apply for Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Eligible candidates should first read the User Manual available on the official CSL website. The application process consists of two phases:
- One-time Registration in the CSL SAP E-Recruitment portal.
- Submission of application against the applicable Trade/Vocation.
Candidates should upload the required certificates and a recent passport-size colour photograph. Only one application should be submitted, and after final submission, changes in the application data will not be considered.
Applicants should retain a soft copy/printout of the submitted application containing the unique registration number for future reference.

Important Note for Marine Fitter Candidates
The notification states that the request for including Marine Fitter as a designated trade for apprenticeship training is under consideration by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India. Registration of contracts for Marine Fitter under the Apprentices Act, 1961 will be possible after approval by DGT.
Important Instructions
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Applicants must enter their marks correctly. Any difference between the marks entered in the application and the uploaded mark sheet may lead to rejection.
- Equivalency certificate is required for qualifications claimed as equivalent to the prescribed qualifications.
- Call letters for certificate verification will not be sent by post. Candidates will be informed through email/CSL website.
- Completion of apprenticeship does not create any obligation on CSL to offer employment.
- CSL reserves the right to restrict, alter, cancel or modify the recruitment process, if required.
- Any amendment or modification to the notification will be published on the official CSL website.
