Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has released the notification for Engagement of Apprentices 2026-27. The corporation invites online applications from eligible candidates for Trade Apprentice, Technician Apprentice, Graduate Apprentice and other apprenticeship training positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Eligible candidates who have passed the required ITI, 10th, 12th, Diploma, Graduation or Postgraduate qualification can apply through the respective NAPS or NATS apprenticeship portal. The last date to submit the online application is 12 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess the qualification prescribed for the respective apprenticeship trade from a recognized institution.
- Qualifying Years: Only candidates who passed their final examinations in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible.
- Minimum Marks: First Class with at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination. The minimum is 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 26 years as on 01 October 2026.
- Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Presidential Directives on reservation.
- Apprenticeship Registration: Candidates must register on the applicable NAPS/NATS portal and complete their profile 100%.
- Candidates awaiting results or those who have undergone employment elsewhere for one year or more are not eligible.
- No equivalent qualification other than those specified in the notification will be accepted.

Important: The notification’s registration instructions specifically state NAPS for Sl. No. 1, 2, 4, 5 and 8, and NATS for Sl. No. 3, 6 and 7. Candidates should verify the applicable portal and opportunity against the official notification before applying.
Stipend and DBT Information
For apprentices engaged under NATS, 50% of the total stipend will be paid through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by the Government. Candidates applying under NATS must have an active Aadhaar-seeded, DBT-enabled bank account.

Selection Process
Shortlisting will be based on a merit list prepared using the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification applicable to the respective trade.
