BHEL Trichy Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 440 Trade & Technician Apprentice Posts

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Trichy has released notifications for engagement of Trade Apprentices and Technician Apprentices for the training year 2026-27. A total of 440 tentative vacancies are available, including 380 Trade Apprentice vacancies and 60 Technician Apprentice vacancies.

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official BHEL Trichy portal. The online application process will start on 14 August 2026 at 03:00 PM and will close on 12 September 2026 at 11:45 PM.

BHEL Technician Apprentice Vacancy 2026

BHEL Trichy has notified 60 tentative Technician Apprentice vacancies for Diploma holders. The discipline-wise details are:

Trade Apprentice Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have passed High School and ITI as a regular full-time candidate from an NCVT/SCVT recognised institute.
  • For all trades except Welder, NCVT/SCVT certificate is required.
  • For Welder Trade, only NCVT will be considered.
  • Candidates who have completed ITI through Distance Learning / Part Time / Correspondence / Sandwich courses will not be considered.

Technician Apprentice Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have passed High School and Diploma as a regular full-time candidate from a recognised institute in the prescribed discipline.
  • The Diploma must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • Minimum 60% marks are required for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates.
  • Minimum 50% marks are required for SC/ST candidates.
  • Diploma obtained through Distance Learning / Part Time / Correspondence / Sandwich courses will not be considered.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 27 Years
  • Age will be calculated as on 01 August 2026.
  • SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.
  • OBC (NCL) candidates get 3 years relaxation.
  • Physically Challenged candidates with minimum 40% disability get 10 years relaxation.

Reservation Details

Out of the notified training vacancies, 19%, 1%, 27%, 10% and 4% are reserved for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS and Physically Challenged candidates respectively. Reservation for dependents of regular employees (Serving/Retired/Deceased) will be governed as per BHEL company rules.

Stipend

Trade Apprentices: The consolidated monthly stipend is ₹11,040 for Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Motor Mechanic and Mechanic R & AC, while ₹10,560 per month is applicable for Welder and COPA.

Technician Apprentices: ₹10,900 per month consolidated stipend will be paid during the entire training duration.

Training Duration

The duration of apprenticeship training will be one year from the date of joining, as per the applicable Apprentices Act and Rules.

Facilities

Subsidized food and hostel facility are available as mentioned in the notification.

Previous Apprenticeship / Work Experience

  • Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any other establishment under the applicable Apprentices Act are not eligible.
  • For Technician Apprentice, candidates having one year or more work experience are not eligible to apply.

Government Portal Registration

Trade Apprentices: Candidates must first register on the RDSDE (NAPS) Portal at Apprenticeship India. Candidates having a valid RDSDE (NAPS) registration number will be considered for training.

Technician Apprentices: Candidates must first register on the Ministry of Education / Government of India NATS 2.0 Portal. The 12/16-digit Student Enrollment Number is mandatory for submitting the application in the BHEL portal.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on fulfilment of the conditions prescribed in the notification. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination. In case of a tie in marks at the selection stage, the older candidate will be preferred.

The selected candidates will also have to fulfil the minimum physical fitness standards prescribed under the applicable Apprenticeship Rules.

The bank account should be Aadhaar seeded and DBT enabled as prescribed in the notification. Candidates should upload clear and correct documents. Blurred, edited or incorrect documents may result in rejection.

  1. First complete the required registration on the respective Government Apprenticeship Portal.
  2. Note down the NAPS registration number for Trade Apprentice or NATS 2.0 Student Enrollment Number for Technician Apprentice.
  3. Visit the official BHEL Trichy website.
  4. Open the Apprenticeship Application Portal (TRICHY).
  5. Register on the BHEL portal and complete the application form.
  6. Upload all required documents in the prescribed format and size.
  7. Verify all details carefully before final submission.
  8. Submit the application online and save/retain a copy of the submitted application for Document Verification.

Important Instructions
