Educational Qualification
Junior Engineer (Civil) – Degree: Candidates must have a Degree in Civil Engineering from a university established by law in India or an institution recognized by the Government as equivalent. Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture are also required.
Junior Engineer (Civil) – Diploma: Candidates must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution or a Civil Engineering Diploma recognized by the Institution of Engineers for the prescribed purpose. Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture are required.
Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) – Diploma: Candidates must have a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution or a relevant diploma recognized by the Institution of Engineers for the prescribed purpose. Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture are required.
Age Limit
The candidate should have attained 18 years of age and should not have attained 40 years of age as on 01 January 2027, subject to the age relaxation provisions mentioned in the recruitment notification.
As specifically mentioned in the notification, an additional 1-year relaxation in the maximum age limit is applicable because the previous recruitment for these posts was not conducted. Other category-wise age relaxations will be applicable as per the prescribed Rajasthan Government rules.

RSSB JE Exam Pattern 2026
The Junior Engineer recruitment examination will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. The examination scheme mentioned in the notification provides 120 marks with a duration of 2 hours.

Examination Mode
The Board has proposed to conduct the Junior Engineer recruitment examination in CBT (Computer Based Test), TBT (Tablet Based Test) or Offline OMR mode, as applicable. The examination is proposed for February 2027, and the Board reserves the right to change the examination date.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be conducted through the prescribed Junior Engineer recruitment examination followed by eligibility and document verification as per the applicable recruitment rules. Department allocation for selected candidates will be made on the basis of Merit Cum Priority.
Candidates must carefully fill their department preference while submitting the online application. After submission, changes in the preference order will not be accepted.
